Functional nutrition counseling is a holistic and individualized approach to health looking at understanding root causes and using food as medicine. Together, we can focus on your unique needs, lifestyle and overall well-being. Sessions are provided in a 1-1 setting either in-person or virtually.

Food and Mood
1.5 hours

Join us for a unique and reflective learning experience. How does what we eat, when we eat, who we eat with, and where we eat impact our emotions and mental health? Plan on lots of reflection, new learning, and leaving with easy suggestions to support your emotional wellness with food.

30 Plants a Week
1 hour

Based on the book by the same name by author, Hugh Fearnley – Whittingstall, this experience will explain the science behind increasing fruits and veggies in your daily diet as well as give you the opportunity to think creatively about how to squeeze in more whole food goodness. Simple recipes and tips will be shared to help you if you decide to hit 30 plants a week!

Introduction to Gut Health
1.5 hours

This experience will go through the basics of digestion including a brief review of the digestive system and an introduction to the gut microbiome. Significant time will be spent discussing research-based practices to improve your gut health and function.

Chill Out: Eating to Calm Inflammation
1.5 hours

Medical research is finding the most chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes and even Alzheimer’s are caused by long-term inflammation in the body. We will briefly explore the origins of inflammation in the body and why it does damage to our cells. However, we will spend most of our time learning about foods and lifestyle changes that can be easily incorporated into your life to reduce inflammation and promote health. You will leave this class with the recipes, tips and support you need to reduce inflammation in your body.

Eating through Perimenipause
1.5 hours

Learn about foods and practices that keep your body nutritionally supported through perimenopause. We will dive into the new search to help us understand what the heck is happening to our bodies and how to make it through as our best and most healthy selves. We will showcase foods to support sugar balance, hormone shifts and mood regulation.

Habit Change for Health
1.5 hours

Based on the science of habit formation in the book “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, this class is the next step in healthy habit development and maintenance. Let’s work together to understand your personal supports for change as well as the obstacles to overcome. You will leave this class with a self-developed plan for incorporating at least two new health habits into your daily routine and hope…lots of hope!

Spice Up Your Life!
1 hour
Come learn about how incorporating more spices and herbs into your daily diet can support your health! We will talk all about herbs and spices including health benefits, ideas for recipes, storage tips and more.

Meal Prep
1 hour

Our health thrives when our meals are planned. Taking time to prep nutritious meals for you and your family pays back dividends in time, money and health! This class will give you tips and tricks for prepping real food that tastes great.


Whole Foods Plant-Based Workshops

Plant-Based Woman Warrior
1.5 hours
We will jump into the benefits and challenges of eating a fully plant-based diet as a woman. Exploring the latest research on plants to support hormonal changes and changing the dietary needs through a female’s lifetime, we will focus on the biology and practices that make a plant-based diet an attractive choice in a world full of eating choices. This workshop was developed from the book, “Be a Plant-Based Woman Warrior: Live Fierce, Stay Bold and Eat Delicious” by Jane and Ann Crile Esselstyn.

Introduction to Whole Foods Plant-Based Eating
1.5 hours
Are you interested in the possibilities of how a whole foods planted-based (WFPB) lifestyle can contribute to your overall mental, physical and emotional health? Learn the latest research, get some starting tips and tricks, and decide for yourself if this way of eating is for you. You will leave with resources to continue your learning and an individualized plan to get you started.

Plant-Powered Protein
1 hour
Based on the book, “Plant-Powered Protein: Nutrition Essentials and Dietary Guidelines for all Ages” by B. Davis, V. Melina, and C. Davis, this workshop takes a deep dive in the nuts and bolts of protein. We will look at the jobs of protein in our body as well as how to make sure you are getting the ever elusive “complete protein” as a plant-based eater. Each participant will leave with a personalized protein outline.

Kids will learn about what grows locally in the summer and how eating whole foods helps our bodies grow. Kids will also learn some geography and agricultural facts.

Belly Buddies
Kids will learn about their digestive system and all the bacteria that live there.

Fruit and Veggie Jamboree!
It is time to play with our food! Kids will play a series fo games, sing and dance, and create art all in celebration of fruits and veggies.
